We had a wonderful time at the Hooting Owl Homestead. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck joined by the local farm dogs. Lauren, our host, was very responsive, organized, and thoughtful during our stay.
If you're reading this, you've done the hard part and found the Hooting Owl. Just book it, you won't be disappointed. Lauren was so great of a host and I feel as if we were under promised and over delivered. The Barn Owl has such great character and it was such a joy staying there with my wife. We did some local hiking at the natural bridge but stayed in the rest of the weekend, enjoying the amenities at the homestead. Thank you for a meaningful experience!!

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Goldenrod. The cabin is beautiful and welcoming and full of extra touches that you don’t get with other cabin rentals. Derek and Lauren are excellent hosts and their animals are an added joy and great hosts as well as they greet you with wagging tails each day. Would definitely recommend a stay here to anyone and can’t wait for my next trip here.
The Goldenrod was the perfect getaway for our anniversary. The location is wonderful. Very secluded yet close to everything. Lauren was responsive and very helpful. We enjoyed every thoughtful detail in the cabin, especially the fresh eggs. We felt pampered and relaxed all weekend. Thank you! We hope to return again soon.
Hooting Owl Homestead is a beautiful property with lots to explore and plenty of places to relax. While being conveniently situated near all attractions of Red River Gorge, it is a destination unto itself. Lauren and Derek are wonderful hosts and graciously introduced us to the farm animals and provided a welcome gift of fresh eggs which was fun and unique. The Goldenrod cabin is delightful, comfortable and tastefully finished with lots of natural light and places to hang out. The kids especially loved the showers and deck trampoline. We very much enjoyed our time there, and would absolutely consider booking multiple cabins for large groups or events.
We love everything about The Barn Owl and Hooting Owl Homestead! This was our second stay and we fall more in love with it each time. The location, cleanliness, attention to detail, and hospitality are unmatched! We can’t wait for many more memories made at RRG!
My wife and I had a lovely weekend stay at Hooting Owl Homestead in the Morel cabin. The cabin itself was very comfortable and well stocked in terms of kitchen items, games, etc. It's clear the owners have paid a great deal of attention to all the small details. We loved exploring the property and were amazed at how much work the owners have put in to their homestead. The location was easy to get to and close to many of the best things Red River Gorge has to offer. We will almost certainly return for another stay!
